About Us
Flatwoods began as a community meeting place in 1801. Baptist circuit riders  were the first preachers.
Established as a Christian Church in 1830,
Flatwoods is an independent Christian Church  with roots in the Restoration Movement of the early 1800's. We believe the pattern for the church is found in the New Testament and  that the Church began on the Day of Pentecost as described in Acts chapter 2.

We preach the plan of salvation as found in scripture.
We are saved by the Grace of God in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
We accept His Grace in the following actions:
Believe in Jesus as the living Son of God.
Confess faith in Jesus Christ before witnesses.
Repent of sins.
Be baptized by immersion for the remission of sins.
Live a life led by the Spirit as He speaks to us through the Bible.
We do not claim to be the only Christians but we aim to be Christians only.
